Family History

My Family History includes many Lines and Many, many families. I have been researching my family tree off and on for over 30 years. I have a lot of

accumulated information. I haven’t worked on my genealogy much in the last few years but I am restarting with a new methodology. I am finally compiling the family history book that I have been delaying for years until I finish my research! That is never going to happen so I am working to compile what I know into an actual readable book instead of a genealogy file or website. As I compile it into a book, I will be sharing

parts of that book as posts on my website.

Private Family information will not be shared on the website but the book that I creating will include some of it but that will be shared only with close family members.

Move to Tulsa and Return to Arkansas

They lived in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area from the 1950’s or early 1960’s until they returned to the Springdale area in the mid-1960s. In the early 1970s, the bought the house on Old Wire Road and lived there until these deaths.

Home on Old Wire Road

Grandma and Grandpa Thompson lived on Old Wire Road in Springdale from about 1970 until he died in 1997 and she continued to live there until her death in 2006. They lived in the same house the entire time but their address changed in the late 1980s or early 1990s when Springdale got their 911 system and the houses were renumbered.

For many years, my uncle Jim lived with them.

There house was only a few blocks from her parents home. If you cut through their back yard and a couple more back yards of neighbors you could walk between their houses in just a few

minutes. All of their grandkids made that journey too many times to count.

Grandpa and Grandma Thompson’s Dog: Tiger

Tiger was Grandpa and Grandma Thompson’s dog for as long as I can remember until the late 1980s when he died.

He was a pretty little dog that I remember fondly. He would come and sit on my lap and I would pet him when we visited my grandparents.

Grandpa’s Death and Burial

Crawford Herman “CH” Thompson died on 19 May 1997 at Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas, at age 70

I remember the time of his death as follows: Grandpa was very ill for many months before he died. A few weeks before his death he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The Saturday before he died on Monday, he had went to a local park and attended a Thompson family reunion. He had the chance to see some of his family that he hadn’t seen in Months or Years!

The afternoon that he died he went to his bedroom to take a nap while grandma went to the kitchen to fix them something to eat. She heard a loud noise and thought he had fallen. She went to see if he was hurt and found him lying on the floor and not breathing. She called for the ambulance and he was taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead upon his arrival at the Northwest Health Center.

Crawford Herman “CH” Thompson was buried 22 May 1997 Friendship Cemetery, Springdale, Washington, Arkansas, aged 70.
